Bullfights & Festivals!

It has been an AMAZING weekend in Granada. I probably should be writing papers or studying--but instead I have been out and about exploring. Well, I did spend a few days in bed but now I'm feeling better. As you can see, I went to the Festival de Toros yesterday here in Granada. There were 6-8 bulls and 2 toreros (bullfighters) on horseback and the rest on foot. They went in order of experience (usually old to young) and the last torero was going for the first time. It was pretty gruesome. The bulls bleed a lot. It's not for the faint of heart, but I honestly enjoyed it a lot. It was about 3 hours and 15 minutes in the sun--which was a bit long but definately worth it. The other pictures in this post are from the Festival de Gitanos (Gypsies) here in Granada. There was a really cool ceremony in which everyone threw flowers and candles into the river (which isn't much of a river right now-I know).

Check out all this pics here.
