Las Fallas de Valencia

What an incredible weekend. Well, despite the crappy Italian food that I ate anyway. We went to Las Fallas with an Erasmus group of about four buses. It was SOOO much fun. They are pretty crazy, there are fireworks on every street corner. It's like fourth of july to the extreme. Father's teaching babies how to light and throw firecrackers..yes, seriously. Gangi and I were the first to walk into a firework. Who knew that that little old man saying "cuidado" was actually talking to us? Well, a few heart palpatations later and we survived the weekend in Valencia. You can check out the album to see pictures of families making Paella in the street. You'll see the huge statues that where lit on fire on Saturday night as well as pics of the AMAZINg fireworks show we saw. We got there three hours early and got the best view on the bridge. Yep, we watched it from a bridge with hundreds, if not thousands of other Valencians.

That's about it for 18 hours in Valencia. OH LA PLAYA. AMAZING! The beach rocked.

Italia - Fashion Shows, Pizza & Rain

Well, folks, I just got back from Italy and all in all I had a really good time. I met up with Jackie in Milan, Italy and we spent the day eating pizza, seeing the sights and just chilling in this huge urban city. We went to the Duomo or city center where there was a huge cathedral (see pictures in link) and stumbled upon a fashion show. The Fashion Show was part of Milan's fashion week and was pretty cool - complete with a lame, older pop singer. She tried to break it down. Anyway, we spent the following day in Milan as well, where we had the most AMAZING gelato and pasta. Instead of tapas, they are called Aperativos.

On to Venice, where we spent Sunday. Carneval in Venice really wasn't what we expected, but I am glad that we got to see this beautiful city--even though it was rainy and wet and cold. We need to make sure to check weather.com before we go next time.
